HELPING PEOPLE FLEE THE WAR ZONE

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is displacing millions of women and children (adult men 60 and younger are required to stay in the country). People are desperately in need of transportation to safe places, especially across the border, along with basic necessities like food and shelter.

We have local people in Ukraine who are able to implement practical care for others. You can help us meet the needs for people who are in a critical situation.

100% OF FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TO UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

The nonprofit's leadership is directly taking care of administrative costs. Everyone involved is giving freely of their time, so nothing is going to huge salaries. The web design work is being donated. Consultations are being donated. MoneyGram is providing free money transfers to the ones we know in Ukraine.

That means that 100% of ALL donations go to the women and children of Ukraine who are refugees—every cent you donate goes directly to those who need it most.

HOW FINANCES ARE USED

1. Get in contact with individuals and families in Ukraine. We have personal relationships with people who live in Ukraine, so we quickly find out about people who need help.
2. Provide finances for specific needs: transportation, rent, food, and other necessities.
3. Help along each step of the way, keeping in contact and providing help and guidance, making sure they're taken care of.

AN ACTUAL JOURNEY

  • It regularly takes multiple days to get from parts of Eastern Ukraine to safe havens like Slovakia. What you see on the map is a journey from Dnipro, Ukraine to Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. One family we've helped took this route, with a mixture of ridesharing and buses.
  • The journey can cost around $1,000-$4,000. Families often need to use a combination of ridesharing, buses, or other forms of transportation to get from their hometown to a place of refuge.
  • Rent in Slovakia ranges from about $500-$900 per month.
  • Food and other expenses need to be taken care of as well.

We're seeking to raise about $2,000 per month for each family, with an initial goal of $6,000 on the first month to help with the high costs of transportation in a war zone. We want to provide 6 months of expenses for each family.
